Best Biscuits
2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup butter room temp (this you will cut in with a pastry blender or fork)
Then add:
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
mix well with fork and drop onto cookie sheet with parchment paper baking at 400 for about 10 minutes. These are so yummy with butter and homemade jam!

Mexian Meatball Soup (Aimee)
Mexican Meatball Soup
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic
2 small bay leaves
5 cans (14 0z) beef broth
28 oz. can tomatos (if you like smooth--puree first)
1/2 cup salsa
1/2 cup cilantro
1 cup rice
Meatballs
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb sausage
6 tablespoons yellow cornmeal
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. pepper
So mix your meatball ingredients and brown in a pan, set aside. Add soup ingredients to the pot and then add meatballs and simmer. This makes a lot so it's nice to make and bring to another family, or invite some company!

Split Pea Soup (Aimee)
Split Pea Soup
1. in an 8 Quart stick pot place one Honey baked han bone and fill 3/4 full with water.
2. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and on elarge onion chopped.
3. Place on medium heat and simmer at a low boil for 3-4 hours, or until ham falls off of bone.
4. Using a straining ladle, take out bone and ham from stock.
5. Sort out meat and replace into stock.
6. Add the following to the ham and stock:
6-7 large carrots sliced
4-5 medium potatoes cut into chunks
7. continue to simmer until veggies are tender, but not fully cooked-about an hour.
8. Add one large bag (4-5 cups) of dry split peas
9. Add 4-5 beef bouillon cubes for flavor
10. Simmer for an additional hour, until peas begin to soften and veggies are fully cooked......it will thicken ( a lot!) once it's refrierated.

Chocolate Cake
1 box devils food cake
1 large package instant chocolate fudge puding
8 oz sour cream
1 cup water
1/2 cup oil
3 eggs 12 oz chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients by hand, and bake in a greased bundt pan for 1 hour @ 350.
I cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Chicken Bisque Soup
1 whole fryer chicken
4 tablespoons salt
16 cups water
1 whole onion cut in half
boil for about 4 hours
remove from heat and strain off broth
Roux
1 cube butter (melt in saucepan)
1 cup flour
cook, getting very smooth and wait for it to smell kind of nutty
Then wisk roux into broth mixture, get very smooth. Add chicken back in to soup. We like to add 1/2 green pepper and 1/2 red pepper diced very very fine into soup.
Serve with french bread and salad!!
